This is a full 2 day class! It starts in the classroom with illustrated presentations on paddle strokes, safety,and boat ramp etiquette. We then move onto selecting the proper fitting boat and why the right choice is always the best choice. After lunch we move onto specific fishing techniques and knot selections, matching your rod and reel with proper line and proper casting techniques.
Later in the afternoon we will cover all of the basic techniques we covered in class, while fishing from one of our fully outfitted kayaks or canoes. You will apply everything learned in the morning session to on the water, including how to handle kayak glide and reading the wind, in order to compensate for proper boat position and maintain proper fishing angles.
The 2nd day will be spent on moving water covering more of the basics and more time fishing. This class will expose to you to various conditions while on the water, and there will be a fair amount of paddling involved.
Each day we will set aside sufficient time for questions and answers.
This is a full 2 days of on the water training, a well worth experience.
The class includes lunch on both days, fishing gear, and one of our fully outfitted boats.
